When Mike and I got back from Alaska on Sunday, we decided that we would start a vegan cleanse the next day to help "clean out" our system from all the rich food we consumed during our cruise through the glaciers. We did quite well. As a matter of fact, I do vegan cleanses often. Mike starts the whole thing with me but by the third day, he falls off the cleanse.
About the third day, I realized that we were headed out to Highland, NJ to our friend Carolyn's annual BBQ. Carolyn is part Argentinian and has some amazing chimichuri. For those of you in the know, chimichuri is amazing for BBQ. So, Mike and I decided that we would end our cleanse on Friday and start eating meat again at Carolyn's BBQ.
Words of wisdom: it may be a good idea to not eat about 3 pounds of BBQ'd meat after a five-day vegan cleanse. Oh, and having some grilled veggies and corn will not counter the effects of the 3 pounds of meat. Later.
