Ahhhhhhhhh-laska. First let me say that it definitely is quite photographic. I would definitely recommend taking a small boat cruise of Alaska if you can. It is truly a beautiful place. I saw some amazing things that I never ever even imagined I would see in my life. For example:
I never thought I would see a glacier as close as I did. Did you know that the blue color of a glacier is called Thalo Blue? I saw four different ones, some receding, some advancing. All spectacularly breath-taking.I've been to Sea World but this past Thursday, I got to see a pod of Orca in the wild. I even got to see one about 30 feet from the window of my boat. Exhilarating to say the least.I saw humpback whales breach... several times. Between them and the glacier, I have never felt so tiny. So non-significant. But not in a bad way.Sea Otters... very cute, very vicious.Several bald eagles; one of them pooping... during a rafting trip down the Chilkat River. Other animals I saw: puffins, wolves, brown bears, seals... and midwesterners. :)It was quite the experience and I would probably do it again. Except without family. Later.
